Suggest Clopidogrel Plus Aspirin in Most ACS Patients After a Coronary Stent
You'll face questions about whether it's okay for patients to switch antiplatelets after a coronary stent.
Current guidelines prefer dual antiplatelet therapy with aspirin plus ticagrelor (Brilinta) or prasugrel (Effient, etc) after an acute coronary syndrome (ACS)...instead of aspirin plus clopidogrel (Plavix, etc).
Earlier studies suggest that ticagrelor or prasugrel reduces the risk of a recurrent CV event more than clopidogrel.
