Stay Alert for the New Narcolepsy Meds Solriamfetol and Pitolisant

You'll see some patients taking oral solriamfetol (Sunosi) or pitolisant (Wakix) for excessive daytime sleepiness due to narcolepsy.

Think of solriamfetol as similar to armodafinil (Nuvigil) or modafinil (Provigil).

Solriamfetol is "dual acting" on dopamine and norepinephrine in the brain. Armodafinil and modafinil might work by affecting dopamine.
