Explain the Role of the New Opioid Apadaz
Apadaz (AP-uh-daz) will be a new opioid combo for acute pain.
Apadaz oral tablets contain acetaminophen plus benzhydrocodone...a prodrug that's converted to hydrocodone by enzymes in the gut.
But FDA denied approval of Apadaz as an "abuse-deterrent" opioid. It doesn't seem less likely to be abused than hydrocodone.
