Don't Suggest Stopping Paroxetine "Cold Turkey"

You'll get questions about which CNS meds shouldn't be stopped "cold turkey"...and how they should be tapered off.

How to stop a med when a patient comes into the hospital isn't always clear-cut...and generally depends on dose, duration of therapy, reason for stopping, etc.

For example, we know that benzodiazepines should usually be tapered to minimize withdrawal symptoms (anxiety, etc).
