Consider Canaglifozin As A Cause of Fractures

You'll see new warnings about an association between canagliflozin (Invokana, etc) and bone fractures.

These fractures seem to occur most commonly in the upper extremities...and usually AREN'T preceded by a major traumatic event.

It's possible these fractures are related to falls due to hypotension...since SGLT2 inhibitors or "flozins" have a diuretic effect. Plus, canagliflozin may reduce bone mineral density.
