Be Prepared to Handle Switches With New Fluticasone/Salmeterol Inhalers
New fluticasone/salmeterol inhalers for asthma (AirDuo, etc) will compete with Advair...and lead to questions about how to switch.
Teva is launching AirDuo (air-DOO-oh) RespiClick AND its generic, fluticasone/salmeterol, at the same time.
But switches can be tricky. AirDuo comes in 55/14, 113/14, and 232/14 mcg of fluticasone/salmeterol...compared to 100/50, 250/50, and 500/50 mcg for Advair Diskus. Both inhalers are dosed one puff BID.
